Originally known as Castlepoint Gymnastics Club the Carousel School of Gymnastics in its current form was founded in 1983 when the club purchased it's current building at Russell Gardens, Wickford. Before then the club hired facilities at the local sports centre, however the morgan family and the Committee took the courage decision that if the club was to flourish then the club needed a permanent facility which at the time was the only one in Essex
The schools aim is to encourage participation in the sport and help each individual to achieve their full potential at whatever level they can whether club, county, regional, national or International.Throughout 2008 the School achieved 100% pass in all levels of grades. Carousel produced 18 County Champions, 12 Regional Champions, 2 National Champions and 1 International title.
